Although these are described as regular die trial pieces in the standard references, it is more likely that the off-metal 'trials' of this year were deliberately struck for sale to collectors. Wolfe-Heritage 1/2000, Goldberg 1/04, Stacks 1/08 as PCGS62RED, Heritage 8/10 - NGC62RED, illustrated below courtesy of Heritage These were also struck in aluminum J1353/P1497. Only 2 of each are believed to exist.
