This is the same design as used in 1879 on J1626-J1630/P1822-P1827.

Examples were struck as follows:

Silver or Goloid J1651/P1851 with about a dozen known. It would be interesting to test these to see if any are actually Goloid.

Copper J1652/P1852 with over a dozen known with the 2 most visually impressive being ex Col Green, Newman-Heritage 4/13 NGC67 and the Stacks 5/92, Goldberg 5/03 as NGC66RED, Simpson-Heritage 1/21 PCGS66RED examples. There are also at least 3 more that grade 66RB.

Aluminum J1653/P1853 with the following 5 known including the one illustrated below.

1) Lohr, Polis-B/M 6/91, Goldberg 2/00 as NGC66, Heritage 1/03 as NGC67, Simpson-Heritage 2/21 - PCGS68

3) Maris, Garrett, JHU, Garrett II-B/R 3/80, Superior 10/90, Superior 8/91, Superior 10/92 as PCGS63, Heritage 3/03, 5/03 as PCGS64, 7/03 as NGC65, 11/03 as NGC65, 8/04, 12/9/04, 12/28/04, 1/05, 3/05, 5/05 - PCGS64 with corrosion by the nose, illustrated below

4) Boosel-RARCOA 5/72, Sieck 81 ANA, Heritage 6/87 with laminations in obverse field and one from the G in Goloid to the 2 in 236
