Barber's nickel design. This is one of 4 patterns for this year using different alloys of nickel and/or copper showing their composition on the reverse within the wreath. To view the set, click here. 2 or 3 dozen examples are known. Pollock lists weights of about 76 grains for these. It is likely that some of these were struck on standard nickel planchets of 25% nickel and 75% copper. These were also struck in aluminum J1711/P1915. About a half dozen are known.
