The regular dies trial piece. These appear to have been struck from business strike dies which is not unusual for pre-1863 coinage.

Examples were struck as follows:

Copper J187/P223 with at least 3 known including one the illustrated example above from Heritage 1/15 FUN - PCGS63BN, the Kagin's 3/17 and the one below which was given to the Smithsonian. The genuineness of this latter piece has been questioned.
