Paquet's seated liberty design. These were struck from two reverse dies. The first is the so-called 'Perfect Ribbon' which has groups of 4 vertical lines in the shield and pointed wingtips. These were struck in both silver J235/P282 and copper J236/P283. The other is the 'Broken Ribbon' which has groups of 3 vertical lines and split wingtips. It was also struck in both silver J235/P284 and copper J236/P285. For the variety collector, the illustrated example is a P282. To view these reverse dies side by side, click here.
