The following striking in copper is from an 1804 obverse JR-2 die in its latest state. These are believed to have been struck outside the mint from dies sold as scrap.

Only 2 are known both struck on large cent planchets. The illustrated example above, courtesy of Heritage, was struck on an 1838 large cent and is ex Ed Price-Heritage 7/08 ANA, Simpson-Heritage 4/21 sale. Click on the thumbnail image to see an enlargement.
